    Covance is hiring Histotechnologists to join our team in Indianapolis, IN at our Central Laboratories. If you join the Covance team, there is a $5,000.00 sign-on bonus.


    In addition, there is relocation assistance when you move to Indianapolis, IN. This is a 1st shift opportunity. (We ask that you do work a Saturday rotation.)

    The Histotechnologist will receive, inspect and validated incoming samples.

    Additional Responsibilities Include:

    • Scan samples into databases
    • Label and route specimens to the correct department or second laboratory
    • Sample pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic processing
    • Tissue slide staining both automated platforms and manual for routine and special stains, and bone decalcification
    • Maintain accurate paper work and audit trail for samples
    • Flexibility on duties and hours. Saturday rotation required

    • Associate’s degree in medical laboratory testing.


    • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Lab Science, Chemical, Physical or Biological Science from an accredited college or university and one year training and/or experience in the specialty in which testing is to be performed. Training should be equivalent to that received in a school of Medical Technology.


    • Completion of an Accredited Clinical Laboratory Training Program or 1 year documented laboratory training or experience in the specialty that testing is to be performed (along with 90 semester hours from an accredited institution) that include: 16 hours of biology pertinent to the medical sciences and 16 hours of chemistry with 6 hours of Inorganic Chemistry and 3 hours of math.


    • Must hold a current Histotechnologist licence and be qualitifed
      by completion of a certified histotechnologist program (HT or



    • The ideal candidate should have at least 8 months experience in FFPE and frozen tissue block sectioning, wet tissue processing, minor tissue grossing, good working knowledge of tissue orientation for embedding of a variety of tissue types.
