Job Overview

Covance is currently hiring a Logistics Operations Supervisor. The location can be Wisconsin, Indiana, Pennsylvania and Texas. If you have 3 years of international business expereince, supervisory/people management expereince and logistics/business experience we are interested in YOU!

 

More about the role:

The Logistics Operations Supervisor is responsible for the functional management of day-to-day logistics- specific operations and implementation of strategic projects. The position requires extensive contact with ground and air transporters, brokers, and internal departments at Covance at Managerial and Operational levels. The position requires contacts with clients at operational and Managerial level. The incumbent will be responsible for managing vendor performance related to inbound and outbound shipments and all Quality Control Management related activities. The incumbent must demonstrate superior problem solving, communication and presentation skills and ability in communicating clearly/effectively with upper Management.

 

 

Essential Job Duties:

 

  • Metrics, Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s): Ensuring timely and precise management of all departmental metrics and KPI’s Internal and external (*)
  • Manage the relationship between Logistics and Key Internal Customer Departments such as, but not limited to: Client Services, Veterinary Services, Sales, Finance, Sourcing, QA, etc.
  • Interact with Sponsors by providing Sponsor’s support to all interrogations and problem resolution inquiries Sponsor may have on any Logistics related topics (*)
  • Lead analysis phase and implementation of global best practices for processes and procedures (SOPs)
  • Lead financial and risk analysis phase and implementation of global client delivery routes
  • Consult with senior management on transportation pricing strategies for global client deliveries, and other transportation-related services
  • Document all process and service failures, resolve, and escalate to management when appropriate resolution is incomplete
  • Responsible and accountable for strategic operational projects under supervision of direct and senior management
  • Regulatory: Ensuring that Logistics operations are at all times up to date with the latest regulatory requirement impacting Logistics Operations such as, but not limited to:
  • CDC, DOT, USDA, USFWS, IATA, foreign government regulations (as applicable)

 

Education/Qualifications

Minimum Required: High-School + Bachelor Degree ideally within Economics/Business field

 

Nice to Have: Any further Specialization/Certification within the Supply Chain/Logistics field.

Experience

Minimum Required:

  • Minimum 3 Years Logistics experience within the Logistics or alternative highly regulated business environment.
  • Minimum 3 years within a similar People Management role.
  • Minimum, 3 years international business experience.
