    We are looking for a summer Animal Technician Intern to help in our research department located in Denver, PA.

    As an Animal Technician Intern you will be working with all animals feeding/caring for animals; reporting all animal care concerns and ensuring that studies are conducted according to protocol.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities:

     

    • Assist with the feeding of all species within the animal facilities.
    • Assist with the changing of animal cage units.
    • Sanitation of all equipment used in the process of cleaning.
    • Assist with the operation of cage washer and tunnel washer.
    • Feed animals; daily, weekends & holidays as needed.
    • Document sanitation practices.
    • Observation of animals, reporting health issues to management.
    • Assist with the receiving of animals into the facilities.
    • Help maintain AAALAC accreditation and regulatory compliance.

    As a Covance intern in our veterinary department, you will make the most of your education, experience and interests.

    Education/Qualifications

    • Enrolled in a Veterinary Technician program or other similar science related program.
    • Computer Experience.
    • Good Communications Skills.

    Experience

     

    • Experience handling animals in a laboratory setting and/or experience in a microbiology laboratory.
