In this role, you will support and troubleshoot novel IHC and tissue based biomarker assays as you:

  • Perform standard histological techniques including thin sectioning microtomy and routine H&E and IHC staining
  • Analyze cell and tissue staining
  • Scan slides for digital images using an automated slide scanner
  • Maintain the lab in a regulated environment


This position is based in our newly constructed Morrisville, NC Diagnostics Development facility.

What we’re looking for



IHC Research Associates are the most successful at Covance with:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline
  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on lab experience in an Immunohistochemistry (IHC) lab
  • Expertise in thin sectioning microtomy and IHC autostainers
  • Experience using automated digital slide scanning is highly preferred
  • Some experience working in a regulated environment is preferred (CAP, CLIA, IVD manufacturing)

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific discipline


Minimal Requirements:

  • 3+ years hands-on experience working in immunohistochemistry laboratory
  • Demonstrated expertise with thin sectioning microtomy
  • Demonstrated expertise with IHC autostainers



  • Experience with automated digital slide scanning
  • Experience in regulatory environment such as CLIA, CAP, or IVD manufacturing environment
