Covance Sample Coordinator II

Covance is seeking a Sample Coordinator II to support their BioA, Safety Assessment, and Metabolism laboratories in Madison, WI. In this role you will learn perform any combination of sample management tasks including labeling, transferring, tracking, inventory, archival, shipping and disposal of samples.


1 year of applicable work experience is required as well as strong attention to detail and customer service skills. 


You will also be expected to:

  • Review sample paperwork against samples to ensure accuracy.
  • Communicate discrepancies to appropriate personnel and assists with problem solving.
  • Communicate confirmation of sample receipt to clients, if appropriate.
  • Handle internal customer inquiries and requests.
  • Distribute sample information and paperwork.
  • Responsible for entry and accuracy of sample tracking systems.
  • Introduce and develop improvement ideas for the group with the assistance of others.
  • Become certified as an authorized environmental system monitor as appropriate.
  • Maintain storage units


This position is a full-time, 1st shift position.

  • Associate degree
  • Ability to learn and use a variety of computer applications


  • 1 year of applicable work experience. Additional experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Customer service skills including attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality and effective communication skills
  • Ability to identify and communicate customer service needs
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Good documentation skills
