Covance is hiring a Medical Technologist I to join their global team in Redmond, WA.
The Medical Technologist I will be responsible for the following:
Perform experiments in a controlled, documented and timely manner.
Perform data entry and manipulation (retrieving, storing and analyzing data from the LIMS database and spreadsheets).
Work in a fast-paced, high throughput environment.
Use liquid handling robotic automation in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Use Laboratory Information Management Systems to complete directed genomic experiments.
Train on and perform new protocols quickly and competently. Work methodically and in an organized manner to avoid errors.
Successfully perform procedures such as, but not limited to: NGS library preparation/sequencing (DNA and RNA), Quantitative PCR, RT PCR, Sample Quality Control, reagent preparation, RNA extraction and isolation, reagent preparation, UV spectrophotometry, gel electrophoresis, amplification.
Work closely with the laboratory supervisor, lab lead or manager to understand specific tasks that need to be performed on a daily basis.
Work individually and as part of a team in order to perform specific, prioritized objectives.
Follow and adhere to standard operating procedures. Record observations pertaining to non-conformance issues in the QID database.
Under directed supervision, modify standard operating procedures to reflect current and best practices.
Adhere to specific laboratory safety policies.
Create and update documentation
B.S. with one year of lab experience
Basic knowledge of genomics and working in accordance with standard operating procedures.
