Job Overview

Essential Job Duties:

Manage downstream events marketing team and act as a strong individual contributor:

  • Understand marketing principles and the relationship between business/marketing strategies and tactical activities
  • Manage events & events team: Provide project management and logistical coordination for conferences and events.
    • Work with Marketing leadership, business areas and scientific leaders to create, publish and manage a calendar of key conferences and events aligned to company identified therapeutic, functional, and geographic goals.
      • Provide knowledge and advice regarding the strategic and tactical implementation of client-facing conferences, symposia and events to meet marketing objectives
    • Utilize metrics to report out results and recommend future actions
    • Develop and implement processes to enable successful, transparent and repeatable programs utilizing metrics as baseline
    • Attend scientific meetings, trade shows and symposia, as needed, to compare competitor messaging, communications vehicles and speak with clients to better understand their needs and make recommendations re: optimization of future events
  • Work with upstream marketing managers, business leaders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to:
    • Create and execute marketing campaigns utilizing marketing automation system - on time and within budget
    • Develop messaging platform (segment specific inclusive of differentiation)
    • Develop communications strategy, tactics and timing
    • Draft content and finalize for accuracy and messaging strength
    • Determine success metrics
    • Map campaign and report on campaign progress
  • Develop optimal outsourcing strategies to meet timelines and budgets and manage external vendors and contractors as appropriate. Assess resource needs, skills, and capacity. Identify / negotiate with vendors to fill skill/capacity gaps
  • Establish and track department metrics for event impact, online experience impact, and executional ROI, helping to establish best practices, improved value delivery, and data-driven leadership decisions.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to follow through
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.  8-10 years related experience.Ability to prioritize and balance workload to meet aggressive deadlines
  • Outstanding writing/editorial skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteDemonstrated skill in message development
  • Experience with analytics and top social media channelsExperience managing small team

Preferred

  • Technical/scientific editing skills

Education/Qualification/Certifications and Licenses

  • CTSM certification or equivalent is a plus

 

Education/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in marketing, journalism or communications

 

 

Experience

  • Experience creating content for the web and growing a social media audience
  • Excellent understanding of scientific principles
  • Experience with event management
  • Knowledge of communications, production, terminology, strategies
  • Working knowledge of Marketing Automation platforms and CRMs
  • Ability to work with colleagues at all levels of the organization
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Extensive project management experience
