    About the Job


    Covance’s HR Business Partners will be responsible for solving complex organizational challenges through people related solutions. You’ll be integral part demonstrating an understanding of every aspect of the business and acting as a thought leader regarding People and Organizational topics. In addition, it’s your role to create the end-to-end People Strategy that will support Covance in realizing their wildest ambitions.  This will require you to think big, use data to guide your work, be comfortable challenging convention, and in some cases to reinvent how work is done. You’ll partner with cross-functional groups of subject matter experts to develop & implement effective HR initiatives and strategies including talent and performance management, workforce planning and communication at the highest level. You’ll also have the opportunity to be hands-on, working side by side with other likeminded Partners to get things done for a variety of People-related areas. As a core part of this hands-on work, you will be rolling out programs to support Covance - including strategic development, employee relations and business consulting.

    To be successful in this position, you’ll need to be educated to Degree level (or equivalent), within Human Resources or related discipline (Masters or MBA preferred).

    10 years of HR and/or combination of HR and Business Leadership experience.



    • Building, leading and delivering People Strategies to support Business Strategy
    • Providing Organizational Design and Development expertise and guidance
    • Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships with senior leaders and a complex set of stakeholders to drive organizational change.
    • Leading Talent Management, Development and Performance agendas
    • Facilitating development of Employee Engagement plans
    • Executive Coaching to both HR and business leaders
    • Provide expertise in the following areas: career planning, performance management, coaching, data analysis, compensation and rewards, employee relations, learning and development, recognition programs, culture keeper, employee engagement, coaching and development, talent management, conflict resolution, talent acquisition, data analysis, and employee relations.

    Additionally, this role will also involve:

    • Acting as a senior member of the CLS HR team and respective business Leadership Teams.
    • Being actively involved in developing functional/operational strategy, strategic initiatives, prioritization and business decisions
    • Developing and deploying HR strategies and solutions to support short and long term business goals, including establishing and executing appropriate change and communication plans
    • Effectively navigating the HR organization to ensure quality and timely delivery of all HR solutions and services to meet Business needs
    • Acting as an internal organizational development consultant and executive coach to Business and HR leaders
    • Providing input into business development processes (proposals, bid-defense etc.) and acquisitions, divestitures and expansion
    • Travel – 10 to 20%

    Candidates must have strong executive presence, a proven consultative and adaptable approach, superior leadership and organizational skills, and an ability to deliver results in a global, virtual and complex work environment.
