    Essential Position Duties

     

    The Business Metrics and Intelligence Administrator (BMIA) is responsible for identifying, measuring and improving key global processes to support the Clinical Pharmacology Services (CPS) data business operationally. In addition, they will participate in assisting business unit to meet group goals and objectives, along with translating the business needs to reportable metrics to support improving the operating processes. Through the use of technical reporting and process measurement, the BMIA aids the business directly by providing data decision support for operational, financial and pricing processes.

    • Partner with management, operational and QA staff to analyze, implement, advise and support global Clinical Pharmacology metric data collection and reporting/dashboarding.
    • Understands business processes and priorities. Leads evaluation of key operational processes to and deploy technology to track performance aimed at enhancing business operations. Participates with functional departments in building cross-departmental milestone tracking.
    • Develops user process maps, and training materials associated with metric solutions and participates in delivering to end users with the goal of making metric tools standalone.
    • Supports the data needs of the global recruitment function, by working closely with the sites and the recruitment database.
    • Provides mentoring and assistance to more junior level site level metric users within CPS.
    • Provides project management for ad-hoc small and medium-sized projects for execution.
    • Works globally and collaboratively with peers in CPS, IT, QC, QA, Finance, Commercial, Client Services for coordinating overall delivery of metric solutions to the CPS service lines.
    • Develops strong working knowledge of industry and trends; uses this information to maintain continuous improvement.
    • Assists in providing recommendations to technology business requirements, business objectives, budgets and timelines.
    • Teams with senior leadership, vendors or suppliers to ensure timely and accurate data analysis to CPS business needs.
    • Helps partner with functional business unit members on how to work with IT, QA, Finance, Commercial teams and CPS service lines.
    • Maintains understanding of current financial and business regulatory requirements as they affect the metrics reporting.
    • Build strategic relationships and share standard methodologies in regards to global process improvements in general across Clinical Pharmacology and Covance in whole.
    • Serves as primary backup for CPS pricing reviews.
    • Works independently and performs other related duties as assigned.

     

    Education/Qualifications

    Required Education and Experience:

    • BA/BS or equivalent Covance experience

     

    Preferred:

    • Master’s in Business Administration

    Experience

    Required Experience:

    • 10 -12 years of experience in the field of contract research, clinical, finance, or a similar position. Experience may be substituted for education.
    • Advanced Excel skills (expert level), experience in data tools (Business Objects, Crystal Reports, InfoPath, Sharepoint, Excelsius) and dashboarding.
    • Unquestionable customer service skills, meticulousness attention to detail, and ability to review, analyze data and operational processes.
    • The ability to balance several priorities at a time.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with multiple levels within organization, demonstrate project management skills and be knowledgeable with operating systems.

    Preferred:

    • Experience with IT systems in the Clinical Pharmacology environment
