    Research Associate I- Immunology Services

    Position is located in Denver, PA.

     

    Make use of your leadership and troubleshooting abilities by joining our team of scientists dedicated to making strides in early stage drug development and biologics. Intermediate level of experience with EIA and high-throughput Immunoassay are essential; development and validation experience preferred. 

     

    In this role you will be a key contributor to the department by independently performing accurate, routine assays on biological samples consistent with the goals of the Immunology Services department. You will also be expected to: 

    • Follow good documentation practices and QMS (Quality Management System) guidelines.
    • High level of quality and productivity is required.
    • Plans assigned workload on a daily basis and effectively schedules multiple assignments.
    • Learn to identify problems, determine appropriate actions and implement solutions with support as appropriate.
    • adapt techniques to new procedures or particular needs as directed.
    • May train and instruct junior staff members.
    • Participates in and drives process improvement initiatives.
    • Interacts with internal (Covance/ LabCorp) and external clients.
    • Develop and validate/qualify immunoassays for all therapeutic areas
    • Serve as a subject matter expert in immunoassay development and validation.
    • Collaborate with project teams on the implementation of assays.
    • Independently apply basic scientific principles, perform literature searches and keep abreast of literature in the Immunoassay field.
    • Closely review method development, validation/qualification data and draw logical conclusions.
    • Thoroughly analyze results and methods, solve analytical problems, and troubleshoot assays.
    • Develop and propose novel strategies and bring in new technologies for implementation and drive revenue growth.
    • Effective communication with other groups in the business unit.
    • Prepare appropriate protocols and reports for all phases of immunoassays and sample analysis.
    • Provide update of project status at periodic project review meetings.
    • Lead cross-functional teams and will be a stakeholder on project teams.

    Education/Qualifications

    • Master of Science (MS) degree with a minimum of 2 to 5+ years of experience in working with immunoassays, (preferably high-throughput Immunoassay development) is required.
    • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree with a minimum of 10+ years of experience in working with immunoassays, (preferably high-throughput Immunoassay development) is required.
    • Experience may be substituted for education.
    • Familiar with the use of standard laboratory equipment.
    • Experience with analytical instrumentation is desired.
    • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.
    • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
