    Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist

    If you are looking to grow your career with a large and stable company, consider joining Covance as an EHS Specialist. In this position you will develop, implement, and maintain required EHS programs as you:

     

    • Provide technical expertise, training, and guidance in compliance with applicable regulatory and industry standards
    • Administer waste programs, including day-to-day monitoring of waste quantities generated, procurement of packaging supplies and labels, and scheduling of waste pickups
    • Administer safety programs, including day-to-day monitoring of contractors, facility safety, and fire safety
    • Prepare and submit regulatory and internal company reports as required, including air permit and wastewater records, emission and hazardous waste reports, injury/illness and other EHS reports
    • Investigate, identify, and assess workplace hazards and implement corrective measures

     

     

    This position is office based in Greenfield, Indiana.

    What we’re looking for

     

    The qualifications of an ideal candidate include:

    • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in science, safety, or a related field
    • A minimum of 4 years of experience working in the field of EHS
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others
    • Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and manage in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of initiative
    • Demonstrated critical thinking skills with experience in providing safety solutions and a proven track record of driving continuous improvement
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
    • Professional certification in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Area preferred
    • Experience working in a laboratory or a research & development environment highly preferred

    Education/Qualifications
