  • Job Overview

    Provides University Relations & Recruitment Program Management in support of company university and talent development needs. 3 direct reports. 

     

    Essential Job Duties:

    • Manages US team of University Relations Specialist.
    • Responsible for strategy development and execution, maintaining regional budget and collaboration with university and internal business leader stakeholders.
    • Develops and implements University Relations and Recruitment programs and events, including but not limited to Covance Internship Program, Externship Program, Student Mentoring Program, Spring Break/Job Shadow Program, Road Trip Events, Covance on Campus Workshop Events and Campus to Covance Open House/Class Visits/Tours and Tier 1 University research. 
    • Leads a multi site Internship Program, including but not limited to program communications (internal & external), candidate sourcing and recruitment, interviewing and selection, program event/workshops, orientation (for interns and managers), evaluations, and end of summer presentations and program close tasks.
    • Develops and maintains an effective University recruitment-related network.
    • Contributes to the continuous improvement of the University recruitment process and adheres to agreed upon process.
    • Deploys branding activities around University recruitment.
    • Responds to campus candidate/student inquires about application process and follow up expectations from the RTA team. 
    • Lead university tasks which include, but are not limited to preparation of company/careers brand and event specific collateral, communications and logistics, maintenance of university postings, campus calendar, daily university requisition question reports and other Covance site events for university candidates
    • Manage Central university inventory system ordering/management/distribution
    • Manage annual updates to campus contacts and student organization database.
    • Contributes to the continuous improvement of the University recruitment process and adheres to agreed upon process.
    • Lead University Recruitment in special project requests as needed.
    • Participates in projects that impact the functional area and broader recruiting function.
    • Manages relationships with providers for background checks on intern populations
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Travel Requirements:

    • Up to 20% travel, primarily regional travel. Travel to other sites on occasion.
    • 80% requires overnight stay. Limited international travel may be required.

                                                                    

     

    Education/Qualifications

    Recommended:

    • Associates or Bachelors degree (or country equivalent) and relevant experience with Human Resources highly preferred. Post High School education strongly preferred
    • Four years of Administrative, University or Human Resources Related Experience

    Minimum Required:

    • Four years Administrative, University or Human Resources Related Experience
    • Experience of working in a matrix
    • Global HR experience preferred
    • Attention to detail, organization and follow-up skills are critical to this position.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Professionalism with first class communication, presentation and interpersonal skills required.
    • Resourceful, creative and proactive. Results oriented with excellent organizational skills.
    • Ability to thrive in a constantly changing work environment requiring a high degree of multi-tasking.
    • Skilled in research of recruitment trends and competitive intelligence.
    • Understanding of applicant tracking systems.
    • Excellent interpersonal qualities, including problem solving and strong partnership skills.
    • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
    • Strong interactive media and computer skills.
    • Demonstrated project management skills.
    • Knowledge of Human Resources practices, laws and regulations in geographic areas of operation, especially related to recruiting.
