  • Job Overview

    The Facility Manager will be responsible for:

    • Partnering with Finance, own the development and management of the Facilities capital and expense budgets.
    • Tactically assigns resources (personnel and equipment), implements programs, and drives system and process improvement and assure financial and budget expectations are met.
    • Owns the development and deployment of Facilities Engineering and space standards for the campus.
    • Responsible for space allocation data, move management, and facilities architectural & engineering design drawings, as well as providing support regionally as needed.
    • Responsible for Lifecycle Assessments for facility assets including property, buildings and equipment.
    • Prepare and deliver responses for facility equipment, systems, engineering, utilities, housekeeping, and Security for client and internal audits.
    • Owns and manages the location master plan and strategic facility planning aspects for the campus interacting with departmental leadership.
    • Manages the Greenfield Crisis Recovery and Management Plan (CRMP) for the campus and Facilities Business Response Plans.
    • Networking with regional and global Facilities Management to develop best practices and implement process improvements.
    • Identify, develop and implement training programs supporting individual development plans for staff.
    • Develops work scope and technical requirements for the development of RFP’s for work contracting services (e.g. trash removal, food service & vending, housekeeping, and ground maintenance).
    • Ownership of Facilities related campus communications.
    • Manage Facilities capital and large expense projects utilizing standard project management methodology and tools, and frequently communicating with campus leadership, as well as providing support regionally as needed.
    • Develops department capabilities and resources to meet both present and future staffing needs.
    • Ensure facility compliance with codes, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Policies & Procedures (P&Ps).
    • Develop and maintain SOPs and P&Ps related to Facilities Management as applicable.
    • Identify, develop and implement Energy conservation/sustainability projects.
    • Develop and maintain appropriate KPIs.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.


    • Bachelors of Science degree in Facilities Management such as Engineering, Technology or related field.
    • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) certification preferred.
    • Experience may be substituted for education.


    • 5-8 years of facilities-related experience including 5 years supervisory experience in a facility management environment.

    • Experience in Construction Project Management.

    • Knowledge of GxP Regulations preferred

    • Process Excellence/Six Sigma Training desired

    • Demonstrated success in leading and developing individuals and teams.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    • Demonstrated success in time management, planning and budgeting.

    • Ability to perform intermediate/advanced computer skills (e.g., MS Office, Visio).

    • CAD skills preferred

    • Experience with a CMMS is preferred.

    • Experience may be substituted for education.
