    Security Shift Leader

    • Provides professional security services by ensuring a safe and secure environment exists for employees and company property and provides over-site to shift Security staff Coordinates the daily Security function to include:
      • Ensure posts are staffed and rotated according to schedule
      • Ensures the integrity and proper operating condition of all installed security systems.
      • Brief and debrief security staff to pass along pertinent business related information.
      • Ensure patrols of campus and buildings are conducted as required monitoring for conditions or situations which pose a risk to the safety/security of people and/or property or are in violation of company policy.
      • Ensures all daily activities and incidents are documented and reported thoroughly and properly.
      • Ensures PC based monitoring systems are monitored properly (Security Access Control, CCTV, Environmental Management and Control systems and fire alarm systems) and any alarm conditions are responded to appropriately.
      • Ensures proper documentation of study related data to include After Hours Package Receipt information and environmental conditions.
      • Provide proper notification to on-call staff and/or management to resolve any problems that may arise.
      • Ensure proper response to alarm and/or emergency situations.
      • Assist in the training of new security staff
      • Assist with Security related projects
      • Assist in investigations
      • Assist in the development of departmental policies and training
      • Ensure chains and cones are put up as required to block entry to parking areas
      • Coordinate snow removal efforts during off-hours
      • Ensure packages received during the off hours are received, evaluated, documented and stored appropriately
      • Ensure badge audits are completed and any discrepancies noted
      • Ensure badge preparation for next day is completed accurately
      • Respond to any incidents that may occur and assume ‘command’ of incident until relieved by a more senior or more competent authority.
      • Provides monthly reporting on productivity statistics and departmental measurements.
      • Enforce company policies, especially Security and Environmental, Health and Safety.
      • Oversees the receipt, documentation and storage of packages and mail received after business hours
    • Demonstrate a high level of customer service to co-workers as well as internal and external customers by directing them to the resource that will best meet their need.
    • Monitor the work environment to assure the working conditions are and remain safe and meet all relevant safety requirements.
    • Assists and advises less experienced staff on skills improvement.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.


    • Associates degree. Experience may be substituted for education


    • 3 years of related experience with 1 years of supervisory experience
    • Intermediate/advanced computer skills (e.g.; MS Office).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
